Gilbert "Hurricane" Jackson
“Kofi” to his students brings his 32 years of coaching experience and talent to Koa. Certified by Sir Oakley, the Founder of the British amature boxing circuit in Great Britain as a boxing trainer in 1989. Gilbert “the Hurricane” Jackson turned pro in the early 90’s in England. Having been brought up with the coaching of Peter Simon throughout his amateur career, Paul Taylor and KC McCullum coached him throughout the span of his professional career. In 1996, Jackson moved to the Bay Area and fell in love with Oakland. “The Hurricane” carried on with his career under the watchful eye of Phil Mandelo at Kings Boxing Gym. In 2003, he established his brand Phight Club. Kofi puts his heart and soul into training his boxers. He is currently training 2 pro-boxers and 10 amateurs. He also trains private clients for fitness and body sculpting. Whether you need help with technique, movement, balance, breathing, or anything and everything in between, Kofi does it all.
